WhatsApp is known for compressing your images, so that otherwise, beautiful images seem to be taken from a camera phone from previous generations. I exaggerate just a little.
Fortunately, there is an easy way to “cheat” WhatsApp to send a good image without having to download any third-party software or stress.
The screenshots of this article are for iOS, since I have an iPhone at hand, but I will also describe the process for Android, since the basic mechanism is essentially the same: you have to make WhatsApp think that you are sending a document. , instead of a photo.
To begin, you must save your image as something other than a photo. On Android, you can do this by changing the name of your image as a .pdf or .doc file in your file manager, which will save it as the file type in question. Then, when you send it to the recipient, tell it to change the name of the image in its own file manager as .jpg and it will be displayed as the original uncompressed image for them.
In iOS, you can save your images in your Files application. You will have to select a folder, either for an application that is already on your phone or on your iCloud Drive. I use my Word folder for any image that I do not want to send to iCloud for any reason.
Once you have saved your image, open the WhatsApp contact of your choice and touch the plus sign button to add an attachment to your message. Then select “Document” instead of “Photo.” This will open your files, and from here you can find and select your image. It will be sent as an uncompressed document instead of a compressed image.
In Android, the process can be even shorter than the method mentioned above, simply by sending the image as a “Document” instead of a “Gallery” file. You must find your photos in a special folder. If you do not see it immediately, tap “Search for other documents.”
There are a number of other third-party options (using Dropbox, Evernote, Google Photos, etc.), but if you want to send a quality image without having to stray too far from WhatsApp and its integrated software, this is the easiest way. way to do it
